Stacey and Frank Pups

One Feb 15 2012,

Stacey had her litter of puppies.

We had just got into bed to try and get some sleep.  We knew it was going to be a restless night as Stacey was in with us and was starting her early stages of labour. I no more then had gotten comfy when I heard that so familiar sound of  full labour. I thought to myself... no that is not it, she is just getting comfy. Then I heard it again! That is when the lights went back on and we got back up and moved to the family room.   The first pup arrived fairly quickly. If fact with in 15 minutes we had our first pup. The next 7 pups followed that same way. They had all arrived with in a hour! I was thinking to myself "Wow this is going great...might get some sleep tonight"  I should know better by now!! She then had her well deserved rest for a hour and half. We had a small drink of water and nap...Well Stacey had the nap. While I watched over her.   At 2:11 the next pup made his appearance, and two more arrived with in a half and hour.  Then we had another wait! a bit of food and a drink of water.  After a hour and 50 minutes at 4:47 am the last boy was born.  I watched the new family for a while and then it was my time to bug them. I made sure everyone was healthy and that everyone was getting their first meal and doing great, and then I was off to bed at 8am for a nap and then down to the kennel to start my day. Needless to say only the necessities got done today, but we do have a stunning litter of golden retriever puppies.

Everyone has settled in to the new rolls of having babies in the house. Stacey is doing great and all the pups are gaining weight like they should. The pictures below were taking today.

Feb 19, 2012.

As you can see there isn't a big change in the pups in the last few days.  They are gaining well but it hard to tell by the pictures. You can notice that their noses and paws are starting to get that black pigment to them.  They are a very content litter which means mom is doing a great job and has lots of milk.

Feb 24, 2012.

As you can see the puppies eyes have not opened yet, but their noses and toes have now changed to the dark black colouring. They are gaining very well and you can tell by the pictures that they are very content happy little pups.

They have grown even more. They pups eyes are open and they are starting to move around a lot more. Up on all fours and walking. Stacey is a great mom but she isn't spending as much time with the pups now. She never goes far from the pen but will now sleep beside it.

 

    

Mar 5, 2012.

The day has finally came. They are now to big for the whelping bed!! So I have moved the pups down to the kennel, where they have more room to move around. They seem to be settling in good and so has Mom.

All pups have found their forever homes. We do have two males available from Cisco and Franks litter.
